For your information, this Modern Slavery and Illegal Workers Policy, through the help of BAME HUB – UK NETWORK C.I.C, relates to actions and activities during the current year and shall be reviewed on or before December 5, 2025. The statement sets out BAME HUB – UK NETWORK C.I.C, commitment to compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and our commitment to preventing slavery, human trafficking and illegal workers in our business activities. This policy also details the steps we have put in place with the aim of ensuring that there is no slavery, human trafficking or illegal workers in our community engagement activities, own business, and supply chains. We all have a duty to be alert to risks, however small. Staff are expected to report their concerns and management to act upon them.

Organisational Structure and Supply Chains

This statement covers community engagement work and the business activities of BAME HUB – UK NETWORC.I.C as indicated on the Nature of Business (SIC) 88990-other social work activities without accommodation not elsewhere classified. The Organisation, currently operates in the following countries: United Kingdom (Wales and England).

Training

To ensure a good understanding of the risks of modern slavery, human trafficking and illegal workers in our business and supply chains, the organisation requires all employees and volunteers to attend a short training presentation where the organisation modern slavery training presentation is delivered within the first 2 months of employment.

Policy

BAME HUB – UK NETWORK C.I.C is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery, human trafficking or illegal workers in our organisation or our supply chains. This Statement affirms our intention to act ethically in our business relationships.

Illegal Workers

BAME HUB – UK NETWORK C.I.C, carry out appropriate VISA, Passport and DBS checks to ensure all current and potential employees are entitled to work in the UK in accordance with Sections 15 to 25 of the Immigration, Asylum & Nationality Act 2006. Should a non-EU resident apply to work with us, as identified by pre-employment screening questions, a copy of their work visa and passport would be required.

All necessary checks would then be made to ensure the person had the right to work in the UK and they have no immigration restrictions that prevent them from doing the work in question. All related verified documentation is retained for a minimum of 2 years after the individual has ceased employment.

Due Diligence Processes for Slavery and Human Trafficking

BAME HUB – UK NETWORK C.I.C undertakes due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly reviews its existing suppliers. The process includes building long-standing relationships, evaluating risks, and invoking sanctions against suppliers that fail to improve their performance.

Non-English Speakers Personnel and Stake Holders

BAME HUB-UK NETWORK C.I.C makes sure policy is translated and delivered in a language understood by all stake holders and service users intended. For employees and volunteers with little or no understanding of English, the organization may provide translations using interpreters or translated written notices.

Effectiveness and Performance Indicators

BAME HUB – UK NETWORK C.I.C is committed to monitoring the effectiveness of its efforts to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, and illegal working in our organisation and supply chains.

Training Compliance

We track the completion of mandatory modern slavery training for all employees and volunteers. Target: 100% compliance annually.

Supplier Audits

We evaluate all new suppliers for risks during onboarding. Target: 90% of new suppliers audited within three months; 100% of high-risk suppliers audited annually.

Risk Assessments

Regular risk assessments are conducted to identify vulnerabilities. Target: Annual risk assessment for all departments.

Incident Reporting

We encourage reporting of concerns and monitor resolution speed. Target: 100% of reported incidents resolved within 30 days.

Policy Reviews

Our Modern Slavery and Illegal Workers Policy is reviewed annually. Target: Policy review completed by December 5 each year.

Stakeholder Engagement

We conduct workshops and community activities to raise awareness. Target: At least four stakeholder engagement events annually.

Employee Awareness Surveys

We periodically survey employees to measure awareness. Target: 85% of employees report high awareness.

Review

This policy will be reviewed at regular intervals, with the next review scheduled for no later than December 5, 2025.
