How The CRE Centre Referral Model Works

The CRE Centre Referral Model provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed, community-led support for individuals and families experiencing challenges related to mental health, housing insecurity, safeguarding, social care involvement, and domestic abuse. We operate a low-threshold, inclusive referral model and prioritise early intervention, safety, dignity, and empowerment.

Who Can Be Referred

Our services are open to: Adults, children, and families from racialised and marginalised communities; Migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and people with No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF); Individuals experiencing emotional distress, housing insecurity, domestic abuse, or social work involvement.

You do not need a diagnosis, statutory involvement, or crisis point to access our support.

How Referrals Work

We listen first and look at the whole situation. Many people experience more than one challenge at the same time. Referrals can be made by individuals (self-referral), community organisations, local authorities, NHS services, schools, and police partners.

What Happens After a Referral

1. Initial contact promptly. 2. Holistic needs assessment. 3. Support planning co-produced with the individual. 4. Integrated support delivery. 5. Advocacy and referrals where specialist services are required.

Our Approach

All referrals are handled using the BAME HUB-UK Culturally Responsive Integrated Support Framework (CRISF). This ensures trauma-informed engagement, cultural safety, a whole-family focus, and a commitment to empowerment rather than dependency.

Safeguarding & Confidentiality

We take safeguarding seriously. Information is shared only with consent, unless there is a risk of harm. We follow robust safeguarding procedures for children and adults at risk.
